In light of current events in the cyber protection space, he will also discuss the state of the cyber insurance market, as well as ransomware and how best to handle ransom demands.
About Greg:
Greg Markell is a leading insurance expert on the topic of cyber and privacy liability. He has advised public, private, and non-profit organisations regarding their risk transfer of organisational exposure to cyber-related losses.
Greg began his career with a large national insurer, has worked with a national brokerage, and was a well-known subject matter expert and thought leader at a top 10 global brokerage. Most recently, Greg became the President and CEO of Ridge Canada Cyber Solution (RCCS), a Managing General Agent (MGA). Here, his focus is working on solutions for his clients’ cyber and privacy needs.
Greg has been published in numerous insurance publications, and speaks frequently on the topic of cyber and privacy liability for public and private organisations. He is a Queen’s University alum, is accredited with the Fellow Chartered Insurance Professional (FCIP) designation, as well as the Canadian Risk Manager (CRM) designation. Greg sits on the advisory board of InfoSec TO, which is a joint collaboration between private business and the Toronto Policy Cyber Forensics unit.
