Fatima Chamali, Director, Operational Risk Management & Insurance at Primaris REIT

ORIMS Board Member

Fatima Chamali serves as the Director of Operational Risk Management & Insurance at Primaris REIT, bringing over 15 years of extensive experience in the field. She commenced her career as a Claims Analyst with a City of Toronto subsidiary, where she spent nine years in various roles, managing claims, overseeing litigation, procuring insurance, and contributing to the development of Enterprise Risk Management and Business Continuity Plans.

Currently in her second term as a Board of Director for the Ontario Risk & Insurance Management Society (ORIMS), Fatima manages the Professional Development portfolio. As a hijab-wearing Muslim woman of Bangladeshi origin, Fatima is committed to representing minorities in senior leadership roles within the risk management profession. An advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion, she actively mentors young professionals to ensure their representation, support, and empowerment in the field.


Tandeka Nomvete, Director, External Engagement at Spencer Educational Foundation

RIMS DEI Advisory Council Member

Tandeka Nomvete graduated from Georgia State University in 2013 with a BBA in Risk Management & Insurance, minor in Actuarial Science, and began her career with Marsh as an Associate Account Executive. Seeking to impact the next generation of RMI talent, Tandeka gained experience in the non-profit sector as the National Director of Chapter Engagement at Gamma Iota Sigma. She then worked as the Director of College Recruiting at Questpro Consultants, leading their early career hiring efforts. Today, Tandeka is the Director of External Engagement at Spencer Educational Foundation, a leading non-profit organization that supports the education of future Risk Management and Insurance leaders.

Tandeka has received several awards, including being inducted into Georgia State University’s 40 Under 40 Class of 2023. She was recognized as a Rising Star by Insurance Business America and a RISE Award Winner (35 Under 35) by RISE Professionals in 2022.
