It’s that time of year again and are you ready to Dive In!
On September 21-23, we will participate in the global Dive In festival promoting positive action for diversity in all its forms. ORIMS is very proud to offer this great opportunity to our membership to participate again this year;
Now in it’s seventh year, the Dive In festival is the only global festival of its kind, focused on inclusion and diversity across the financial services sector— and ORIMS is very is a proud local Gold sponsor.
Dive In promotes year-round best practice in diversity and inclusion with tools and advice that culminate in this annual three-day festival. Events are hosted by committees of insurance firms and industry organizations of all types and sizes, all around the world. All events will be virtual across the Americas this year.

Eastern Canada
Title: Journey to Allyship
Description: Allyship is a journey; it doesn’t just ‘happen’. It is a lifelong process and it is not always easy, but everyone has the potential to be an ally. Join us on September 21st for a frank discussion on race, ethnicity, and the need for effective allyship. This 60-minute panel event will feature acclaimed speakers lending their diverse voices and sharing their lived experiences, with a view to offer practical solutions for individuals and workplaces to help advance social justice in an authentic way. Listeners will come away with a better understanding of the dos and don’ts of what it takes to be a good ally.

Title: Rebuilding After the Storm: Reflecting on Mental Health through the Pandemic and Beyond.
Description: Join us for an intimate one-on-one chat with Aram Arslanian, CEO and Founder of Cadence Leadership + Communication and Jack Saddleback, Cree Two-Spirit Champion, about mental health through an intersectional lens. Jack’s journey through depression, bullying and recovery aims to provide attendees with an understanding of their own mental health, tools to support others as they navigate towards recovery and how to apply these tools to become a better ally.

Western Canada
Title: Active Allyship and Empowerment: Indigenous Perspectives
Description: Please join us for a fireside chat with engaging and dynamic dialogue that is unscripted. Our panelists will provide answers to questions that honours truth and creates a safe space.
How can an event like this encourage our industry to be inclusive? How do we remove roadblocks to the hiring of Indigenous people as professionals in a safe workplace? What tools are needed to equalize the procurement process for all participants?

All Dive In events are free and they’re open to everyone. Colleagues can apply for tickets via the events tab on the Dive In website, Dive In Registration. Tickets are allocated on a first come, first served basis (so get in quick!).
